Technical Manager | Kerry

As Technical Manager you are responsible for ensuring that resources necessary to meet quality objectives are always available.

You are responsible for the general day-to-day practical supervision and management of the Microbiological Department facilities, staff and the services offered.  You will also provide technical guidance to staff and be one of the signatories who approve Test Reports.

You are specifically responsible for the organisation of work priorities and schedules, supervision of tests and personnel undertaking tests.

Responsibilities of Technical Manager 

  • To manage the day-to-day workload of the laboratory in a manner that conforms to contractual and regulatory requirements
  • To perform analysis as required
  • To satisfy the customer base to the standard set out in the company’s policies
  • To inspect the laboratory regularly to ensure it is in full compliance of Good Laboratory Practice
  • To train and supervise staff where necessary
  • To liaise with Health & Safety Officer
  • To Engage in Business Development
  • To manage the following functions within the laboratory
  • Write up SOP and Validate methods
  • Review, revise and implement continuous improvements strategies
  • Monitor costings stock control and budgets
  • Purchase and maintain laboratory equipment
  • In conjunction with the Quality Manager you are responsible for ensuring the requirements of INAB are met
  • Other duties may be required of you at the discretion of management

Requirement for role of Technical Manager 

  • Degree in Microbiology – Masters level preferred
  • Essential: 3 years’ experience in a similar environment
  • Experience in management or previous experience of an INAB accredited laboratory is a distinct advantage
  • Open to learning and taking on scientific challenges
  • Ability to thrive under pressure
  • Attention to detail, excellent concentration and analytical skill

Corporate Financial Accountant – COUNTY KERRY

Chase Resourcing are looking to recruit a Corporate Financial Accountant for our Client in County Kerry.

The Corporate Financial Accountant will provide Business Partnering support to Corporate Functions, drive process efficiencies and take responsibility for completion of accounts including G/L and Balance Sheet reconciliations.

Responsibilities:

Completion of monthly accounts for a Group of Corporate entity

  • Preparation of monthly accounts for a group of corporate entities, and completion of same on Hyperion
  • Completion of Balance sheet reconciliations on a monthly basis
  • Co-ordination of year end and liaising with Auditors to ensure sign off on accounts
  • Completion of Statutory Financial Statements and ensure filing of same
  • Monthly calculation of Foreign Exchange Transactions & posting of such
  • Support Shared Service Centre in the preparation of monthly VAT Returns
  • Completion of Quarterly Cash flow Forecasts for Treasury Department.

Process Efficiencies Projects

  • Responsible for driving process efficiency projects within Corporate Accounts
  • Work with other back office functions to identify process efficiencies, particularly in the area of month end close

Ad Hoc Projects

  • Involvement in projects and supporting the Corporate GL Controller and the Controller as required

Provide Business Partnering to Corporate Functions

  • Assist function heads with Budget compilation and target setting
  • Provide support to function heads in identifying efficiencies, time & cost savings
  • Report and analyse monthly variances versus Budget and Last year.

 Your Ideal profile:

  • The ideal candidate will be a qualified Accountant and have at least 1 years+ post qualification experience in practice or similar role in Industry
  • Good written and verbal communication skills

  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy essential
  • Good organisational skills with a proven ability to manage a work load
  • High standard of MS Office combined with general proficiency in IT systems, preferably SAP and Hyperion

The Primary Dairy Operations Controller will be reporting directly to the Operations Director and will be responsible for the Operations Financial affairs of a multi-site facilities in Munster.

Responsibilities:

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the HR function in a large manufacturing facility.
  • Responsible for Performance management.

  • Responsible for ensuring best practice Recruitment & Selection policies.
  • Communication – manage Employee Engagement.

Qualifications:

  • The successful candidate will have at least 5-7 years’ experience in a similar role.
  • HR experience in a unionised manufacturing environment is essential.
  • Experience of performance management.
  • Experience of change management.
  • Experience of driving successful problem solving and dispute resolution.
  • Direct experience of dealing with bodies such as the LRC, Labour Court, Rights Commissioners and the Employment Appeals Tribunal.
  • Experience in Continuous Improvement principles within a manufacturing environment.
  • Familiarity with both the local and national HR/IR landscape.
  • Strong knowledge of employment law at national and EU level.
  • Ability to build strong relationships with people at all levels both internally and externally.
  • Develops others in order to improve individual and team performance.
  • Demonstrates the flexibility and adaptability to be successful in a changing environment.
  • Demonstrates enthusiasm and determination in seeking out and meeting challenges.

Weekend Team Leader

The Weekend Team Leader will lead the Production ( Moulding ) team.

The Weekend Team Leader should have experience of Team Leading in a manufacturing environment an advantage however experience of Team Leading in other sectors such as retail or hospitality will also be considered.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Ensure machines are ready for start-up by verifying that all materials, tools and personnel are available.
  • Ensure operators are at the workstation on time at start of shift and after break times.
  • Perform absentee’s responsibilities.
  • Verify first-off parts including dimensional checks.
  • Complete raw material call-off based on parts planned to run.
  • Ensure that all checks are complete eg. daily/hourly checks.
  • Basic investigation of quality issues and bonding/screening of suspect materials.
  • Prepare machines for changeover where necessary – ensure materials are available to minimize changeover time.
  • Complete reports on machine output, downtime and efficiency.
  • Ensure machines have continuous output.
  • Assist with training of operators.
  • Address health and safety issues.
  • Emergency response such as fire evacuations, spills, accidents etc.
  • Start 15 mins before start of shift

 

Skills required:
